2013 Top 5 Animated Movies-Take You A Whole New Experience

Here is the best animated movies 2013! Disney/Pixar always make a good showing in this genre and have the audience either laughing, crying or a little of both.

Sometimes there's romance and other times it's about defiance and showing independence and getting through the hard times. Mostly the graphics are amazing, the characters are awesome and audiences are able to get with the story line fairly quickly.

Meet the cast, the characters and discover the reason kids want to go and see these movies at the cinema! Check out the trailers and decide if these movies are suitable for your kids and you.

Some of the most anticipated animated movies are sequels such as Despicable Me and The Smurfs 2. There's even a Prequel, Monsters University and there are some completely new animated movies in 2013 too. Here is my list of the top 10 animated movies 2013 has to choose from.

Escape From Planet Earth

Escape From Planet Earth is set to be one of the best animated movies 2013. It's a hilarious way of looking at what would happen if an alien came to Earth. He'd be captured and taken to Area 51 and would have to try his best to escape. And that's what happens in Escape From Planet Earth. Except, this alien can't escape and his geeky side kick has to come up with a plan to rescue him.

Escape From Planet Earth is now available on DVD.

Add in lots of other funny aliens being help captive in Area 51 and you have a lot of blue people trying to get home.

Expect to hear the voices of Jessica Alba, Sarah Jessica Parker, Brendan Fraser, Jane Lynch, and James Gandolfini in cinema's from February 14th 2013.

Oz The Great and Powerful

It's full of adventure and is set in the same world as the original movie, The Wizard of Oz. However, Oz The Great and Powerful is a prequel to the classic. This is the tale of how the Wizard got to Oz and became The Wizard of Oz.

Oz The Great and Powerful is now available on DVD.

Like the original movie, it's part animated and it's part normal screen action. However, once the Illusionist goes through the storm that takes him to Oz, he finds himself in a magical land where he no longer knows the rules. He doesn't know who is good and who is evil. He will have to figure it out quickly before the opposition realize the full extent of his powers.

Oz The Great and Powerful is directed by Sam Raimi (directed The Amazing SpiderMan) and has a star studded cast. Be prepared to see Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, James Franco, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff.

The animations are yet again amazing in the world of Oz and there are lots of new creatures to meet.

The only negative I can find is although the movie looks amazing, I really struggle to see how it can become a classic like The Wizard of Oz. The Wizard fails to have the same appeal of Judy Garland, as Dorothy. She had that youthful, wide-eyed innocence. Not surprising when the roles are completely different and audiences would find it a little weird if a man in his early thirties put on his red dancing shoes and tangoed down the yellow brick road...

Will this be the best animated movie 2013? I don't think so. Will it be great to go back and re-experience a childhood classic? Absolutely!

Get ready to watch Oz The Great and Powerful in cinema's from March 8th 2013.

The Croods

The Croods is due to be released on March 22nd 2013 and is a family movie with a touch of humor.

Now available to order on DVD and watch at home. Comes with one of the most popular characters from the movie Belt! However, this is likely to be a

limited time offer so you should order your copy of The Croods DVD soon before this offer expires.

You'll recognize voices such as Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds. Catherine Keener and Emma Stone also supply their voices to two of the main

characters.

Chris Sanders and Kirk De Micco are co-directors on this cave man project.

The Croods is about an over-protective parent trying to keep his family from leaving the safety of the cave. It's set in pre-historic times and the

action quickly goes beyond the cave walls. Yes, you guessed it, one of the children decides to ignore their dad and decides to explore outside the

cave. When it's discovered the daughter is missing the family embark on an adventure to find their lost family member and find a way to survive in

the wilderness.

Expect some really cool backdrops and animations. If you and your kids liked the Ice Age movies then expect something similar from The Croods.

Epic

Epic (Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack)

The creators of Ice Age and Rio bring to you a new animated movie in 2013 called Epic!

If you love nature and the secret world below your feet then you'll love Epic. It's about a young girl that gets shrunk down to size and discovers there's a war going on in the garden. If she doesn't fix things and help The Leaf Men then the human world will also fall.

Expect to hear the voices of Beyonce, Colin Farrell, Amanda Seyfried and Steven Tyler

Monsters University

How did Mike and Sully become Scarers? Well they went to University of course!

After the success of Monsters Inc. we've all been waiting patiently to see Mike, Sully and Boo again. Well the good news is Mike and Sully will be returning to the big screen in the summer from June 21st 2013. The bad news is that Boo won't be with them as Monsters University is actually a prequel to Monsters Inc.

Expect more humor and pranks in Monsters University along with the voices of John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi, Kelsey Grammar and Jennifer Tilly.

I am hoping that Monsters University is one of the best animation movies 2013! The trailer looks like they are on the right track.
